Universal Studios Hollywood

Inside Universal, you’ll find the Internet’s largest and most comprehensive guide area for Universal Studios Hollywood. Here, you’ll discover carefully produced articles to help you plan the ideal holiday to the world’s largest movie studio and theme park.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a die-hard fan, our extensive profiles cover every ride, retail store, and restaurant within the park, as well as tips and tactics for making the most of your time there.

First, how would you characterize Universal Studios Hollywood?

The traditional response would be a huge film studio functioning with a full-fledged theme park.

While many other parks try to claim the moniker of “movie studio slash theme park,” Universal Studios Hollywood has a vibrant backlot that is used in world-class films. Unlike other parks, Universal is completely authentic, including sets and soundstages from some of the world’s greatest and most complex productions. If you’ve seen a few movies, odds are that some of them were filmed on the Universal property. So, while Universal has admittedly focused on the theme park portion of its business, the studio still has a significant influence over the property.

Universal has three types of parking: front gate parking, preferred parking, and general parking. Front entrance parking, as the name indicates, provides preferential parking immediately in front of Universal’s main entrance. Preferred Parking enables you to park near the park’s entrance, whilst General Parking allows you to park near CityWalk. Unless you want to park at Universal’s front entrance, it’s a short walk from CityWalk to the park, and General Parking is usually the best option. We strongly advise you to buy your parking coupon online ahead of time, just like you would with tickets.

Universal’s parking buildings are different and separate from one another. As a result, if you can’t recall where you parked, you’re likely to get lost. Having said that, if you tend to forget, we recommend snapping a snapshot of a parking marking. Even if you aren’t, it won’t harm much – and it will come in handy later.

Universal Orlando provides guests with five distinct parking lots. The names are Frankenstein Garage, Jurassic Parking Garage, ET Garage, Curious George Garage, and the Woody Woodpecker Lot.

The Woody Woodpecker Lot is utilized for both front-gate and preferred parking.

Universal also offers valet parking. The rates for April 5, 2021 are as follows:

  • $25 for the first 2 hours.
  • $45 after two hours.

Public Transportation

Universal Citywalk provides two taxi stands and drop-off sites. Drop-off points for ride-hailing firms like Uber and Lyft are near the theme park’s entrance (near the iconic neon sign/fountain) or the ET Parking Garage entrance.

Those who use public transportation can take the Metro Red Line to Universal Studios, getting off at Universal City. From there, go across the street to the hill. Universal also provides daily tram service from the base of the slope to CityWalk.xpress, the VIP Experience, and Annual Passes.

General Admission

The park’s best-selling ticket is General entrance, which includes one day of entrance to Universal Studios Hollywood. We strongly advise you to purchase your tickets in advance on Universal’s official website. Not only may your group go immediately to the turnstiles, but Universal also provides savings if you buy your ticket online before the day of your visit. Peak days often receive a lesser discount than non-peak days.

VIP Experience

While General Admission is the park’s best-selling ticket, the VIP Experience offers a unique, behind-the-scenes glimpse at the backlot and studio. The VIP Experience includes a personal guide, unrestricted Front of Line access, and catered meals.
