Two campers were seriously injured in a crash near Newgale.

As a consequence of an accident that took place at a campground and entailed hitting a tent in which a baby was sleeping, there are still two persons in a neighbouring hospital who are in critical condition as a result of the incident. This location is currently caring for a child as a patient.

The incident took place on Saturday night in the area neighbourhood of Newgale, Pembrokeshire, and it included a Ford Fiesta that went off the road. As a consequence of the accident, nine of the people who were riding in the vehicle received injuries.

The proprietor of Newgale Campsite asserts that a little child who was present in the tent at the time of the event was able to avoid suffering serious injuries since the child was sleeping in a cradle at the time of the occurrence.

Mike Harris referred to the happy resolution of the story as a “miracle” for the youngster in his commentary. He was talking about how the narrative will end on a positive note.

The vehicle drove over a ditch, crashed through a tent, and eventually ended up landing on top of a gathering of people who had gathered nearby.

A car crashed into a campground at around 22:30 British Summer Time, and the local police in Dyfed-Powys claimed that the people who were inside the vehicle were among the wounded.

Near the entrance to the campground is the only location where the speed limit drops from Sixty miles per hour (100 km/h) to thirty miles per hour (50 kilometres per hour). There are tents located only a few feet from the road in this area.

Mr Harris said, in the course of an interview with BBC Radio Wales, that in order to make sense of what had taken place, he had reviewed the data from the CCTV cameras in order to get more information.

He said, “I couldn’t believe this car, how it had been driving so swiftly down the road from the Roch area into a 30mph zone, and then it went off the road.” He was unable to comprehend how the vehicle had been moving so quickly down the road. It was clear that he was talking about the car that had run off the road. He was referring to the automobile that had veered off the highway when he made his comment.

Located close to Newgale, this campground has speed restrictions of 30 miles per hour.

New speed limits on the road that goes past the campground have cut the maximum allowed speed to 30 miles per hour from the previous maximum of 60 miles per hour.

Peter Morgan, who is a member of the Council, provided some further perspective and said, “It’s a miracle that nobody was murdered; that’s the most important thing.”

“It wasn’t exactly a pretty sight to take in, but thankfully, a few of the medics were staying on site that night, and they were there to help,” said one of the people who saw the incident. One of the people who were there at the time mentioned that the people who were there that night were fortunate since a few medics were staying on-site, and this was something that one of the people who was there remarked.

Mr Morgan believes that a study of a proposal for a brand-new road that has been in the works for a few years should take place “sooner rather than later.” [Case in point:] “Sooner rather than later.”

In addition to this, he went on to say, “I think you may look at stuff, but you can’t warrant a vehicle that was apparently speeding and flipping over on a campground.”

The authorities started their investigation at the site of a collapsed tent on Saturday evening by erecting a cordon around the area in question.

According to Clare Harris, who is the co-manager of the campground as well as the wife of Mr Harris, the vehicle allegedly made an attempt to come to a stop while it was driving down a slope.

She went on to add that just before it slammed into the tent; it had already rolled and turned over quite a few times before it got there.

“At that point in time, there was a little kid who was there in the tent. The kid was a newborn at the time. To the glory of God, they are still in very good shape.

Mr Harris said that despite receiving significant injuries, the situation could have been “a lot worse,” adding that in order to liberate the victims trapped behind the car, it was necessary to raise the vehicle. He also stated that in order to rescue the victims trapped behind the car, it was essential to elevate the car.

According to him, it was “good” that there were firemen and two surgeons camping at the location at the time of the disaster because they were “able to take leadership and make the most of the situation.”

Additionally, Mr Harris said that he was “extremely pleased” with the quickness with which emergency services reacted to the situation, with around 15 vehicles arriving in a short amount of time. He said that he was “very happy” with this particular aspect of the problem.

Watch as the proprietor of the camping site tells what transpired immediately after a vehicle drove over a tent that had people inside it.

At around half an hour after 10:30 o’clock in the evening, a number of people at the Newgale Campsite called the local emergency services to report an accident that involved a single automobile. The collision occurred on the road.

It is thought that the blue Ford Fiesta, which had a significant number of people inside of it, was heading from the district of Roch toward St. Davids when it suddenly lost control and skidded off the road. It is possible that the vehicle was involved in an accident. There is a strong possibility that the automobile was engaged in a collision.
